An old friend who passed away a decade ago gifted us his little workhorse home made tractor trailer. It was cobbled together with farm remnants & painted John Deere green (3rd picture). it sat in our backwoods ever since.Always wanted to give it a second life.As of this week, the tiniest market on two wheels is going to be parked at our gate, open for campers who have a taste for locally made goods. Its cork Board doors will be clad with a local farmers market map. The 50s brochure rack filled with farmers almanacs. Its hidden back storage stocked with a seasonal rotation of jams, jellies, pickled beets, dilly beans, apple butter & whatever looks good for the season.Campers can self serve with a new website link. But like every farm stand Ive ever grown up with- The Honor Box will be there (for those inclined to embrace the way its always been done)This little box on wheels honors a good bit more than the produce it holds. My brother in law, Jeff Warden lives on their farm in my hometown 5 hours south of camp. Between building barns and tending his crops. He managed to build this from a pile of sketches evenings & weekends. It takes a village / family / team to make nearly everything here, so we have to Honor & pay gratitude to ours:The build coordination. Lisa The sign painter. Ches @rightwaysignsThe loader & build asst: Alan The painter & stainer. EllieThe labeler/URL builder/produce mngr. Riley The market partner site visits. BrittThe Jack-of-all helper: Joe My label making partner, AI exploring (last slide) & pics : @nathanbobeyThe goods maker. The Weinke family. The trailer giver. Larry, R.I.P.If youre looking for me, Ill be hunkered in the corner rubber stamping the old school one-peck paper produce bags. See you this summer….
