New addition to the Grounds & Garden shed:The photographers backdrop mural. We commissioned the talented @marinaross_studio to paint this 8×10 on canvas by recreating a scene from a postcard of the Wandawega Inn circa 1930s (in the style of the Hudson River School)Weve long been obsessed with the work of theater designers scenic backdrops- and equally enamored by traveling photographers roll & drape canvas sets – often found as the set studio portraits antique cabinet cards. We have some special plans for this mural to travel – youll find it popping up late this summer and fall around Chicago (more on that soon) >> heres a little BTS Timelapse >> of Marinas process in her studio. We will be hosting her soon as an artist in residence at our artist cabin – stay tuned for more about her & her work. …The first photographer to give it a test drive is our friend @bobcoscarelli (will share more on his work soon). This little room in our grounds and garden shed has beautiful light. (We like to think that its because it streams through two centire old windows and cottage door we salvaged to finish our Amish built shed). Next up for this little garden house is to stock the shelves with all things garden shop :)
