Nothings as easy as we think its gonna be around here. (Squeezing in our last few grounds projects before snow hits).After 3 years, artist cabin (sycamore house) is finally getting its backyard lounge. Lay your own stone patio they said.Its easy they said.3 tons of flagstone,2 tons of sand,1 ton of gravel later- we finally got it done. It takes a small army (or at least 3 of us, a ditchwitch, tractor trailer, UTV pug with dump bed, a week and lots of Advil).We rarely show our work in progress shots, cause its never pretty (and we just wanna spend the time getting it over with) but we figure sometimes it helps to show that its never as easy as a phone call to a contractor. (Im still digging gravel out of boot treads).It could have turned out more perfect -But we saved almost 80 percent of the cost by DIYing it – And gained some new character callouses.
