Part 2. Rejection Series of the new book by @accidentallywesanderson (When they reached out asking for options to feature, these are some of the shots that didnt make the final cut ). Looking forward to the book signing on the 31st at the new home for THE WANDAWEGA BUREAU OF TOURISM (this morning we start loading out of @thetiebar and into @orderandexperimentation )

The new @accidentallywesanderson book is finally OUT! Excited to have our own section telling the story about camps layered history, places & spaces. Centerfold snap of our little DepartmentOfObjects.com shot by @nathanbobey (Theres a mountain of other options that the editors also considered- thanks to so many friends of camp whove shared over the years were sharing some runner-ups today & tomorrow) this mornings batch has 3 that made it inExcited for the book launch party on Halloween with our friends at @orderandexperimentation

Our little Lucky Camper (literal hole in the wall) coffee shop getting in a morning work out- with friends & chosen fam of @ponnopozz & Seth. As a girl who also appreciates the tiniest details I love that Adrianne even made a logo for their weekend to hand stamp all the coffee sleeves. Thats commitment, if weve ever seen it ……..(captured by @foreverhellofilms)

When a rad artist & Chicago shop owner Adrianne @ponnopozz gets hitched to her love Seth & together they throw an epic bash (honestly so good that we cant fit all the things that inspired us Into a single share -so more incoming)The talented @foreverhellofilms got these pics & our fav gal Danielle (@rosewoodwed) helped throw the party – I think my favorite detail is this insane cake by @juliemichellecakesThe colors.

@erinbot hosted her funnest friend troop to help her ring in her birthday. And it was scout themed. 80s themed. joy themed. It was a complete and total vibe (and makes me wanna have a big birthday do-over) HBD to the luckiest girl. You & your scout patrol win the merit badge for most creative. Hands down. also! Shes the genius behind @boothbaderginsburg (vintage photo chemical booth). Something about then authentic old school photo strips that make are hearts swoon@rosewoodwed the producer who helped pull it all off !

I freaking love to zoom in.Do you see the Barefoot tippy toes?Little fingers stretching so far to hold moms hand ?A tossed bottle in grass that was mowed at sunrise (If you want somebody to see the things that some others dont always catch – you gotta check out what our girl @wanderlynnphotography did for Coleen & Danny)She makes us want to look closer for the little in-betweens. Its not lifes big posed moments that were gonna remember in the end- its the minutes in between

Earning your patina. We love supporting local brands. So when @mkebootco & our old friend @bennett_young asked if wed share our story about working at camp, we were happy to oblige. This summer, they shot a little film (and a lot of hours) for the fall line that is coming out. We promised to share a few previews & outtakes. And while I wont ever get used to being in pics, i have gotten used to my new boots. Thanks, @mkebootco for showing that women over 50 need work boots, too. And the kind that are made to last.Fun fact: in the chainsaw shot, I was 5 mos preg with Charlie (wearing the only pair of boots I had). At the risk of somebody getting offended- I did this with an abundance of caution. My brother is a lineman and an arborist, teaches chainsaw safety for the state – and the saw was a wedding registry gift. We were only clearing light brush- ( being one of 5 kids raised between corn & hogs, this was normal). Our dad always told us to keep your hands dirty. (Meaning keep your head down, dont be afraid of work. It gives you perspective & makes you grateful.) We have no shortage of opportunities around here for that. Looking forward to breaking these in. Heres to the things that earn their patina.

This is the season we love most. And this was last weekend – so the leaves are almost at peak now. Campfire breakfast with our dear @mindysegal @mindysbakery .. @nathanbobey (Part of a series captured by our photographer friends @nathanbobey @iamcraigsteven @erikengstromphoto – more to come )
