the best part about spring cleaning are the photos you unearth. in this case, i proudly present a couple of my favorite discoveries: exhibit A: david as a 5 year old, sporting a perfect bowl cut at camp wandawega. exhibit B: same guy, 15 years later, same place. but now a fantastic curly mullet. exhibit C: the most patient, tolerant, handy guy in the universe, with the do i met him with: none.

his name is DENNIS HALLIMAN– he was a 1950’s lifestyle photographer.I’ve not actually met him…. if hes still alive, hes like 80+. he was Cypress Gardens’ chief photographer back in the day- his work featuring 40′ and 50’s pin up are still super hot. i stumbled on him while surfing and am now obsessed with his work. stay tuned for more Dennis magic. He always talked about her, how he wanted to her out of retirement- but for decades nobody could even see the building she was locked up in. She was built to drag race in the 50’s, holding an impressive track record in the midwest, until her motor was pulled over 40 years ago and the body retired to a decrepit storage building in Arenzville, Illinois…
we got a private tour of the Anderson Mansion while visiting my sister in Carlinville.glad I brought my camera- lovely old wallpaper, original gingerbread- much of it not restored, in its original decaying condition. a great example of the ghosts of old money.
