I love this photo of a family holiday feast at “Wandawega Lake Resort” sometime in the early 1950s. This is the Andrzejewski family, the owners in that era. Nowadays we tend to be on the road visiting family for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but one of these days we’ll need to have a holiday feast like this at Camp W! Happy Thanksgiving one and all. #Thankful
Who’s up for a cold shower? Actually, the open air camp showers are hibernating now, but they look inviting in a blanket of snow. This quirky outbuilding started its life as a 4 man outhouse at the nearby Girl Scout Camp Juniper Knoll. It’s believed that it was part of the mid century renovation by modern master architect Harry Weese. When it outlived its usefulness as an outhouse there it came here to be reborn as a shower house. Coincidentally, Camp Juniper Knoll is where David’s mom Anna went to Camp as a little girl. #harryweese #midcentury #campjuniperknoll

This is the single biggest creative project in 16 years at my day job // Its called the Museum Of Feelings And behaves like a giant moodring – taking the emotional temperature of New Yorkers- the whole building changes color to reflect the mood of the city // It’s taken a literal army of creative makers from all disciplines jamming for months to bring it to life & we finally open tomorrow night. Thanks, @VANITYFAIR for the nice write up. (link on todays profile line) #BestClientsEver #LoveMyJob
12 hard camp winters. 25 acres of deteriorating grounds & buildings. 1 golf cart that never runs for more than a day at a time. Nearly 17 years with this guy- (we haven’t killed each other yet & most days thankfully still love each other.) #smallmiracles // Thanks @sohohouse for not sugar coating our ‘good cop / bad cop’ story of folks trying to make it work while working together 24/7/365.
