One such group is Salonathon, a ‘genre-defying art’ group out of Chicago. So after finding out that they still make them, we ordered one in hunter green. Then customized the ‘acorns’ (1 in capsules) by painting their caps green to match. PROOF OF THE KINDNESS OF STRANGERS. We got a letter in the mail – a woman explained that she had a very sentimental gift that “belonged” at camp. She asked to personally deliver it, driving in from the east coast. As a teen in the 60s she has been a synchronized swimmer- her favorite team performance incorporated each girl forming a big American flag (12 plank sections coming together). She had saved these hand made pieces her whole life as a reminder of her youth – and hoped that we would display it so others could enjoy it, too. // Since we hung it on a cabin, countless wedding couples and kids young & old have used it as a backdrop for photos of their visits here. // We are honored to display it (if you look on the backs, the girls names and order numbers are still scrawled there) : @justemscraps
