Frankie loved the snow. He did not like it when we dressed him up in snow gear. But he tolerated it – with so much patience. We woke up to this snow globe world this morning and blurted out lets walk Frankie . before I caught myself on that last word. Its our first winter without him in 16 years.Late at night – when its just starting to drift and its super quiet – I Sometimes think I see him around camp looking for leftover scraps left by campers. Its not normal.I should probably get my head checked. But in a weird way,its always comfortingAnd I hope I never lose sight of him

What will you get? inspiration for our souvenir machine came from the history of roadside America. Long before the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1956,little shops dispensed local-themed souvenirs and mementos for travelers. Before the construction of the modern Interstate system, roadside America was dotted withsouvenir shops.Just about every landmark, point-of-interest and motel had one.Our own Route 12 passing through Elkhorn and Sugar Creek, Wisconsin was no exception. In homage to the sorts oftchotchkes sold at the original prohibition-era Wandawega Hotel,we retro-fitting our vintage cigarette machine to dispense the same nostalgic and odd mementos of the era. We found a handful of souvenir makers thats been supplying Wisconsin tourists for over ninety years- who showed us source a batch of iconic American camp favorites.you can to stop by the Lodge to take home a novelty reminder of Camp Wandawega- Dispensed in a hand-stamped craft box, sealed with our anniversary stamp, with a certificate of authenticity in each box that reminds people:WERE NOT NEW, AND WERE NOT IMPROVED.Camp Wandawega since 1925

Nobody gets to see this but the deer in the back acres. The little RANGER STATION in our back acres is braving its second winter.groundskeepers mobile HQ Weve been asked more than once what this little building is thats parked ln the back acres at our trail head – this is the best way we know how to describe it:Imagine a mobile 1940s National Park Ranger Station (meets Wes Moonrise set) to haul, hold, & hide camps machines/gear that help keep this place runningWe have plans for her this coming summer :We how for her to also serve a few other duties:hikers trails way finding stationcamp counselor hang out grounds bulletin board We still have to finish outfitting the inside & stocking it up- (looking for vintage gear lockers still) but for now its in winter hibernation, keeping our camp gear safe from this blizzard that we read is on the way. While its registered licensed to pull – were not planning any road trips. We didnt get the lights on this Christmas light up on here here this year (since the squirrels where the only ones who get back where to see them.)
