ITS OFFICIAL. The US Department of The Interior have finally recognized the petition from the State of Wisconsin to include “Wandawega Inn” (as it was named in 1925) an official ‘Historic District’. We are now even more grateful, humbled and dedicated to keeping these disintegrating buildings standing. Simple blue-collar structures like this were never meant to last this long- let alone still be considered a place folks would still care to visit.   we are so happy for this day. Today we opened a very happy letter from the Wisconsin Historical Society. The United States Department of The Interior have recognized the petition from the state of Wisconsin to include Camp Wandawega – and its collective buildings – as an official ‘District’ in the listing of National Historic Places. We are now even Grateful, humbled and even more dedicated to keeping these walls standing. Many thanks to our supportive friends for helping make this a reality. We where never supposed to be here. Places like this arent designed and built to last…

One of our favorite “after projects” runs on jet fuel (we found her in a barn). Sad to send her back home after the @uralmotorcycles event, we had so much fun having her up at camp for the weekend). We might need to get her a permanent spot in the garage at camp now. : @richardoriginal #uralxcamp

In 1925, some bad things happened down here. This is the rathskeller as it looks today. Still has the trap door access from the former saloon above. During prohibition, it housed the whiskey, gambling machines & dark corners to play cards. The proprietor “Little Orphan Annie ran it before she went to the state pen for operating a “bawdy house of ill fame” there. Story on today’s profile link.
